As many of you know, we are in the process of our adoption from China. We have seen God’s hand through our journey and we love how He places people in our lives to encourage us at just the right time. We don’t believe in coincidences but answer to prayer. The Horton family was brought into our lives recently and have been such a tremendous blessing to us.
We met Elaine Horton, the beautiful mother of the Bride, and also photographer extraordinaire through a client of my (Christy) brother. The Horton family has adopted 5 beautiful girls from China! This family is amazing and wonderful and we could not have been more excited when the opportunity opened up for us to photograph Michaela and David’s wedding day.
What an absolutely sweet wedding we witnessed for Michaela and David! Two people brought together by a loving heavenly Father; destined to be together. They exchanged their vows before loved ones on an open field under a shining and beautiful, North Carolina sky.
Every time we saw Michaela, she had a smile on her face enjoying every moment of her wedding day. Her six sisters were always within a few feet helping every step of the way. David was relaxed and enjoyed the day with lots of smiles and laughter, too.
Some weddings we experience consist of a first look, but for Michaela and David, it was a first prayer. Just the touch of a hand around the corner of a barn. These are some of our most favorite shots of the whole day. Capturing the raw, honest emotion and anticipation of what is to come and the heartfelt thanks and joy for the goodness of the Lord in their lives. Such tender and sweet moments!
The golden hour of the day did not disappoint either. Spending the first few minutes following the ceremony capturing the adorable newly married husband and wife was simply magical.
And, what could top off the end of a wedding day? How about a family bonfire under the amazingly clear, starry night sky.
To the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Parker, thank you for welcoming us into your family for the day. We were so honored to play a small part in your wedding day and hope that these images will be a blessing to you and your family for years to come!
