May 12, 2017 turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day where we had the opportunity to witness sweethearts, Ryan and Janel, say I do! We had been watching the forecast for about a week and a half prior knowing their outdoor wedding would be taking place at the stunning Quarry at Carrigan Farms and everyday leading up to the date there was a 90% chance of rain. Well, the downpour held off until the vows were exchanged and a little misty rain didn’t stop the celebrating by friends and family into the evening.
Ryan and Janel first met on November 21st, 2009. As Ryan puts it, “I was a lowly 17 year old high school student touring UNC Charlotte. Janel was my beautiful tour guide.” We learned through playful toasts made by the bridal party that it wasn’t an immediate connection on Janel’s part, but it wasn’t too long she found she couldn’t resist this light-hearted, handsome guy who was smitten over her.
These two teachers are huge Panthers fans and love to spend time together in Uptown Charlotte. Even their table decorations shared about favorite locations in and around Charlotte and why each place was special to them. We love the one about Freedom Park… “sometimes Ryan provides commentary while bird watching; sometimes Janel provides commentary while watching kids ride their bikes around the edge of the water. They may or may not make bets on if the kids fall in…”
Oh, and their amazing, fun-loving, realistic vows they shared with each other… “to be a man of God,” “to always brush my tongue,” “to not breathe on you in the morning,” “to clean beard hair out of the sink,” yep, true & lovely… 😉
Ryan & Janel thank you for entrusting us to capture your sweet wedding day. We loved every second of being there. We are thrilled you two found each other and we know you will have an amazing marriage and future together as husband and wife. And, even though the sun didn’t shine on your wedding day remember, “Lovers alone wear sunlight.” (E.E. Cummings) And, we witnessed, first hand the glow you guys have together, so shine on!
